Q. How are books arranged in the Downtown Campus Library?

Answer

JCTC libraries use the Library of Congress classification system to organize books. The call number on is a combination of letters and numbers. The label on the book shows the call number.

On the Downtown campus, all non-fiction books, including reference books, are shelved on the 2nd floor according to LC call number.

Graphic novels and fiction books are shelved in separate areas on the 1st floor of the library. The call numbers for these books consist of the first five letters of the author’s last name.
