Q. How do I sign up for classes or browse for classes online?

Answer

If you have any questions about signing up for classes or do not feel comfortable enrolling yourself, please contact you advisor or visit the Advising Center.

  1. Go to https://jefferson.kctcs.edu.
  2. Click “Current Students” at the top-left of the window.
  3. Scroll down to “MyPath”.
  4. Click “Student Self-Service”.
  5. Enter your username and password. (The username here does not require “@kctcs.edu”.)
  6. Click “Main Menu” at the top of the page, then “Self Service”.
  7. Click “Class Search / Browse Catalog” and choose accordingly.
    1. With either choice, keep in mind when looking for a course that many subjects have multiple subject codes, some with and some without current classes, e.g. Math has courses under “MA”, “MAH”, “MAT”, and “MT”.
       
  8. For searching for a class
    1. Set the "Term" field at the top if necessary, keeping in mind that every time the form gets reset this will have to be done again.
    2. Click the magnifying glass icon to the right of “KCTCS College” and select “JEFFERSON COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE”.
    3. Click the “Campus” drop down and select “Jefferson Comm & Tech College”.
    4. Click the magnifying glass to the right of “Location” and select the top choice with the location code listed as “JFC”.
    5. Fill in “Course Subject” field. Click the “Select subject” button if subject code is unknown.
    6. Fill in “Course Number” field if known.
    7. Classes are shown grouped by Course Subject and Number (e.g. MAT 150 – College Algebra) with the different available class times and locations listed. Select the desired group and hit “View All Sections” at the top of the group. This will show all of the available Time/Day/Location options for this class
    8. Green circles here indicate classes that are available and have open seats. Find a section with a desirable time, day, and location; then click on the section (e.g. 5513-LEC(86261)) to check for open seats in the class; and then go back with the “Back” button and find the class again.
    9. Now click “Select Class”.
    10. Click “Next” to add the class to the shopping cart.
       
  9. For browsing for a class:
    1. Use the alphabet across the top to select the letter that you expect the Subject Code will start with.
    2. Click on subjects in the list to see the courses available under each course code.
    3. Select and click on a course by Course Number, if known, or Course Title otherwise.
    4. Click View Class Sections.
    5. Green Circles here indicate available classes with open seats. Click “Select” on the desired class.
    6. Click “Next” to add the class to the shopping cart.
  10. Click “Main Menu” > “Self Service” > “Academic Planning” > “Enrollment Shopping Cart”.
  11. Select the term and click “Continue”.
  12. Check the boxes next to the classes you want to enroll in.
  13. Click “Enroll” to enroll in the class.
