How can I open a new document in Word?

First open Microsoft Word on your computer.

  • If you open Word from the start menu, you will be prompted with templates and you can choose one or use the blank document. 
  • If you are already in a Word document and want to open another one, you can either go to File > New or you can hold CTRL + N.
